Yükselen Çelik was founded in 1976 by the Göktürk Family, who have been active in the iron and steel industry since 1954. As one of the leading companies in the Turkish specialty steel sector, YÜKSELEN supplies tool, alloy, carbon, and structural steels used in the machinery, mold, automotive, defense, and manufacturing industries. Over the years, the company has developed and sold its own patented and specified branded products and has established long-term collaborations with over 40 liquid and final steel producers in 10 different countries. Additionally, YÜKSELEN is the Turkish distributor for DSS (Ukraine) and Poldi (Czech Republic) manufacturers. Domestically, it is the main dealer for the Machinery and Chemical Industry Institution (MKEK).

Under the main category of specialty steel, the company operates in Cold Work Tool Steel, Hot Work Tool Steel, Plastic Mold Steel, other Tool Steels, Alloy Steel, Quenching and Tempering Steel, Case Hardening Steel, Carbon Steel, and other similar specialty steel groups.

In 2013, YÜKSELEN acquired its competitor 'Ramateks Metal' from Russian Mechel Holding, incorporating the company and its brands into its structure. In 2019, YÜKSELEN went public and started trading on Borsa Istanbul (BIST) under the code 'YKSLN,' becoming the first and only publicly traded Steel Service Center in Turkey.
